The Gayatri mantra is considered to be the highest of universal mantras for bringing about internal cleansing and spiritual growth. For millenia, sadhakas (aspirants) have recited this mantra and/or have been given a practice of this mantra by their spritual teachers to bring about internal cleansing and intense spiritual growth.
In this workshop, the partitipants will learn about the origin and meaning of the Gayatri mantra and will learn to recite it with in-class guided practice.
(Recommended for TTP200 and TTP300 students).
Abdominal Lifts (Kriya) Series - Agnisarawith Pavel LatashMay 30th, 10:00 to 12:00 Noon
The abdominal lifts are considered to be at the pinnacle of Hatha Yoga for their physical benefits and for their positive effects on abdominal health. This first of the two workshops will focus on teaching the practices that are preliminary for Agnisara: Ashwini Mudra, and Akunchana-Prasarana (A&P), followed by teaching, demonstration, and practice of Agnisara.
To allow for full personal interaction (while observing social distance guidelines), the workshop will be held at the Center. While it is available for Zoom participation, it is highly recommended that participants attend in person at the Center.
Since the participants will be working with abdominal movements and exercises, it is recommended that participants have light breakfast earlier in the morning prior to their arrival.
Inverted Yoga Postureswith Pavel LatashSaurday June 5th 1:00 - 3:00 PM
Inverted hatha yoga postures are unique in the way they enhance the practitioner's balance and body awareness. The Shirshana (head stand) and Sarvangasana (shoulder stand) are often called the king and queen of yoga asanas respectively. When practiced with safety, they provide enhanced blood flow to brain and improve mental clarity. Join Pavel and learn how to do and teach the inverted asanas along with their contraindications for safety.
