We are excited to invite you to join us at Loyola Retreat & Ecology Campus in Woodstock, IL on September 27th, 28th & 29th for our 2019 HYMTA Retreat.
Vijnana-Bhairava is an esoteric text of Kashmiri Shaivism. It depicts a dialog between Lord Shiva and his consort Shakti wherein Lord Shiva teaches 112 dharanas (concentrations) leading to deep meditative states.
The Shaivite Tantric philosophy is codified in Shiva Sutras which were revealed to Sage Vasugupta in circa 800 AD in a dream. Shiva Sutras present a nun-dualistic metaphysics and methodology leading to enlightenment and to awareness of one's true identity as the Param Shiva, the ultimate divine deity. Swami Lakshmanjoo, a modern enlightened Kashmiri mystic and scholar of the tradition of the great Kashmiri sage Abhinavagupta revived and re-introduced Kashmiri Shaivism. Through his teachings and the work of his disciples, Kashmiri Shaivism its texts are being practiced by spiritual seekers today.
