This workshop is presented by Himalayan Center of Milwaukee and features Dr. Chernin, who will give a brief history of his personal journey from yoga and meditation to holistic medicine and in particular his work with Sri Swami Rama. He will also present case histories from his long practice of holistic medicine.

He is an initiate of the Himalayan Tradition and has been practicing meditation for over 40 years. His recent book, “A Physician’s Journey: Yoga & Meditation to Holistic Medicine” is available from Amazon.
The Upanishads are the sacred texts of Yoga. Upanishad means “to sit nearby and listen”. It also means “secret teachings.” Compiled by sages during their deep meditative states, the Upanishads contain the eternal truths about the divinity in us. Swami Rama has written commentaries on several Upanishads. Kathopanishad is the story of a boy prince named Nachiketas who asks the Lord of Death questions about secrets of death. His answers contain truths about living a life leading to the eternal freedom.
